St. Peter's Church, Heysham.

The rectangular shaped stone resting against the south wall is a mystery. It is too shallow to have served as a font. It has been suggested that the stone's function may have involved sacrificial rites.

The Viking gravestone known as the hogback stone was found in the graveyard, and brought inside in the 1960's to prevent further erosion. More..
